It’s almost time for Camping on the Green! The February 10th – 11th, 2024 event will again take place on the large green field at Due West Church. Pack Families are welcome Saturday morning to camp overnight into Sunday (It might be chilly, so please bundle up and use real (cold-rated) sleeping bags!) or you are welcome to come out all day on Saturday and enjoy the activities!

This bi-annual historic campout is a great tradition at the church that brings together all of our scouting units for a weekend of fun. There will be activities hosted by each scouting unit, a wonderful flag retirement ceremony at dusk over a fire, and more.

Saturday
9am – Cub families are invited to set up and arrive at this hour.
10am – activity rotations begin (please see the color-coded schedule below)
12:30 – Lunch on your own (bag lunch)
1:30 – Activities resume
6pm – Dinner, provided by the Troop, please sign up in the signup genius
7pm – Flag Retirement Ceremony
7:30 – Scout Recognition
8pm – Campfire (Songs & Skits turned in by 4pm)
10:30 – Lights Out
Sunday
6am – Reveille & Flags
7am – Pack Breakfast ( if you are on the signup genius, it will also cover this meal)
8:15 am – Scout’s Own Service
9am – Tear Down and Cleanup Camp

Each Scout will also get a “Then & Now, 1964-2024,” themed patch with purchase on our signup genius. A scout’s design from Due West’s units was chosen as the winning design, so you’ll see your peer’s work, soon!
