Please take a few minutes to sign up to help with the Pack 540 Car Wash, which is taking place from 12-4 on May 17, 2025. If you can’t stay the entire time, sign up for a certain time slot or contact Mr. Russell, who is spearheading this activity, to see if he needs help setting up or cleaning up in addition to any time you can spend helping run the actual event. 

As we all know, the cost of everything is rising right now. Pack 540 remains dedicated to keeping scouting affordable (and, to that end, we have raised our dues costs only once since 2020 despite the FED reporting that in 2025, consumer costs are 20% higher than five years ago), and our pack also remains one of the most affordable options in the metro Atlanta area. We are proud that our activities, which include monthly pack meetings, camping trips, monthly hiking events, and at least two den meetings per den per month, all cost less per year than 4 days of sports training a month in many venues.

However, as prices rise for items like the awards the scouts enjoy and basic supplies and operations for the pack, our dues also have to increase. We are all dedicated to keeping these increases as low as possible, and Mr. Russell, in particular, believes fundraisers like this car wash, in addition to our “traditional” fundraisers, like evergreen wreaths, are one of the best ways to do it, which is why he is spearheading this event. If you’re unaware, Russell Mackay is one of our assistant Cubmasters, as well as bring a Wolf den leader, and he is dedicated to the success of our Cub Scouts and demonstrates this in a wide variety of ways.
