Pack 703 and Pack 540 have a joint exciting opportunity to honor American veterans for Memorial Day this year by placing flags on the graves at Liberty Hill Cemetery (Cemetery Rd, Acworth, GA 30101) on May 24, 2025, following a Memorial Day celebration at Cauble Park (4425 Beach St, Acworth, GA 30101) at 10am that morning.

The scouts are invited to attend the ceremony, at which Acworth’s mayor will speak about Memorial Day along with other presenters, and then go with the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) to Liberty Hill Cemetery to place the flags. The DAR historians have been hard at work identifying veterans in this cemetery who have not previously been on record with the city, and there are more than 300 at this site alone, many of whom have never been publicly recognized in this manner before. It is a great opportunity for scouts to participate in this special element of Memorial Day in a meaningful way. 

Class A is required unless you do not own it. If you do not have a Class A uniform, please wear your pack Class B shirt tucked into nice pants/jeans/skirt as appropriate with a belt. If you need a hat or neckerchief, please reach out to Carole Ellis at carolejellis@gmail.com.
