LET’S AIM FOR THE SKY!

Get ready for an afternoon of high-flying fun at our Back to the Pack Fall Cookout & Launch! We’re gearing up for a water bottle rocket launch, and we want to see how high, and how straight, your rocket can fly!

Bring your completed water rocket, made from a standard 2-liter bottle, and get ready to launch. Don’t have time to build one ahead of time? No problem! We’ll have supplies available throughout the event for building, repairs, and last-minute rocket adjustments. If you’re able, please bring an extra clean 2-liter bottle or a roll of duct tape to donate to our onsite rocket workshop. Every little bit helps us keep the rockets flying!

Helpful Hints

  • A standard-size 2-liter soda or lemonade bottle works perfectly.
  • First time building a water rocket or need some pointers? Check out this quick how-to guide for a basic bottle rocket: Build a Bottle Rocket
  • Keep the neck and opening of the bottle free and clear so it will fit properly on our launcher.
  • Keep decorations and added materials lightweight. Please make sure your rocket isn’t too heavy, especially since it will need to come back down safely.
  • Most importantly, get creative and have fun!

We can’t wait to see what you build, and how high you can fly!
