2018 Veteran’s Day Parade

Howdy, Pack 540! We are registered as a Pack to walk in the City of Marietta and the Kiwanis Club of Marietta’s 14th Annual Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 10 on Marietta Square. As in prior years, the parade will begin at Roswell Street Baptist Church at 774 Roswell Street, Marietta 30060. at 10:45am. It will then march up towards the Square. We are making a banner with our Pack’s family veterans on it. PLEASE SEND YOUR FAMILY VETERAN NAMES TO YOUR DEN LEADER ASAP. You will need to walk with your child on the parade route.

You can park your car in the back of the Roswell Street Baptist Church Parking Lot in preparation for the Parade.  The Parade will meet at Roswell Street Baptist Church at 0915. RSBC is located at 774 Roswell Street in Marietta, Georgia 30060. They will assist us in lining up in parade order. Be in place no later than 9:45 a.m The Parade will step off promptly at 10:45 a.m. The Parade route will go straight west down Roswell Street to the Marietta Square, turn right on West Park Square, turn right on North Park Square, then proceed straight to what becomes Lawrence Street. The Parade will disband at that point, approximately 1 ½ miles. Make sure to wear your sneakers and your Class A uniform!

The Cobb County Bus will shuttle people back to the beginning of the parade route and will pick up at the northeast corner of the Square. (there will be a sign at the location).  The shuttle will run until a while after the Veterans Day Ceremony.  The event ceremony ends around 12:30.

  • Our Pack will have a horizontal banner.
  • No other handheld signs are allowed.
  • Parade walkers may bring a personal water bottle (you’ll have to hold it), but there can be no other beverages.
  • No materials may be handed out or throw on the route.

Grand Marshall for the 2018 Veterans Day Parade is Brigadier General Tom Blackstock, Commander, 78th Troop Command, Georgia Army National Guard. The Color Guard will be provided by the 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, United States Marine Corps. A 21-Gun Salute and “Taps” will be performed by the Cobb County Sheriff’s Department.
